Three more months, all going well
Having a pregnant partner is kind of strange. There is of course the obvious physical changes but there is also plenty of other changes of the not so physical kind. I’m referring to changes in myself there too.
All of a sudden you realise that you are going to be a dad and of course you start thinking about the responsibility that comes with it. Being unemployed doesn’t help either but that should not be a problem hopefully for much longer.
At the moment we are attempting to think of names. We do not know yet if we are haing a boy or a girl, but one thing that has struck me is that it seems next to impossible to think of a name for your own child! I always thought that it would be easy but it’s far from it. What makes it doubly hard is that we are trying to think of names that work just as well in Polish as well as English.
But the most striking thing about expecting a baby is the waiting! When we found out that Sylwia was pregnant it was a major event. There was celebrations, congratulations and all round general excitement. Two months later and all the excitement has worn off, as too have the effects of morning sickness and things have just settled down.
Skip forward another four months and it is just waiting, waiting and waiting. I suppose we should be enjoying the peace and quiet for the moment as things will certainly get hectic for the rest of our lives in November.
So we have now reached the landmark third trimester. There is only three more months to go if all goes well. Next week we have the six month checkup which is another milestone. So now to enjoy the peace and quiet for these remaining weeks.
Wow! I’d no idea! Congratyer lations!
Have you seen any scans yet? Those are amazing.
The second trimester is definately the best
You’re right, you need to enjoy being just the two of you.. you won’t remember what that was like in while!
Enjoy the waiting! When baby comes you’ll be so busy caring for him or her you’ll wonder where all the time has gone!
It’s totally worth it though
K8 – Yep. We have had the three month scan and that’s all. It was incredible. For probably the first time ever in my life I couldn’t utter even so much as a grunt! I was completely gobsmacked. And of course I have a picture of that scan on my phone
Donncha – It is something I’m really looking forward to. I know that there will be sleepless nights and some times where we might be fraught with worry but overall I just can’t wait, neither of us can
have you painted the baby’s room yet?
Actually we have still yet to find a room!
Congrats ! :]
If you come up with baby’s name let us know… :]
frob is a decent enough name
It is so bloody hard to think of a name! I suppose we will wait until the big day itself. I’ve been told that in a lot of cases a name will just pop into your head the first time you see the baby!
