Another bird in the hand
Back in April we had a visitor in our dining room/sun lounge. About 10 minutes ago I was settling down getting ready to watch Stargate Atlantis on Sky One when I heard a lot of noise coming from the dining room. And I found the fella pictured below with another one outside looking in! I managed to catch him/her and left them go out the back. Minus a few tail feathers. Grandad has a few in his garden as well but I couldn’t get over how close I finally managed to get to one as they are quite shy.
How did he/she get in? Not the ususl way I take it – down the chimmney.
It got in through the French Doors. They are just to the left of my hand in the lower picture.
Fabulous to get so close to him. The closest I ever got to one before was another picture that I took here:

Cool aren’t they? They were both out in the garden again a while ago looking in at me while I was waiting for the kettle to boil.
