A quiet day
If anybody wants me I will be out in the garden basking in the oh so rare sunshine reading a book.
“The Afghan” by Frederick Forsyth if you must know
Now, where is my pipe? Ah, there it is. Cheerio!

Make me mad why don’t you!
Just another grey day here
My quiet day has now been interrupted by some torrential rain. Typical!
It’s nice out here in the sun. Isn’t it?
Birds singing; frogs croaking in the pond……
I didn’t know you were a pipe smoker?
I just added the suggestion of a pipe to make it sound a bit more romantic and carefree! I actually do have a pipe however, it was once belonging to my father but I’ve no tobacco.
All I’m listening to now is first few drops of rain splattering on the surface of the garden table
I’ll send you over some baccy. Do you want commercial or home-grown?
Sun still splitting the rocks here….
Hmm.. there is a tempting offer. I shall have to stick with the commercial type I’m afraid.
It is about to get as dark and damp as the folds of Mary Harney’s belly here
That is a DISGUSTING image…. *nips out for some projectile vomiting* …. I’ll have nightmares tonight.
I’m actually quite disgusted with myself. I don’t know where it came from! But now I need to go and hang my head in shame
I’m pleased to report that the sun is shining again. Now to see if i can reclaim the comfy spot that I had a few hours ago.
Is The Afgan as good as other Forsyth stories?
Hi Ray,
Indeed it it. I read it start to finish in around a total of 8 hours over two days. It was pretty much “unputdownable.”
I got my copy in my local Tesco for €5.95 so you can’t argue with the price either.
