It’s a boy!
He was born this morning at 9:35 weighing in at 7lbs 9oz or 3.5kg. even though that might not sound a lot he is huge! He doesn’t fit into any of the newborn clothes we bought him so it’s off to the shops for me in the morning.
Both he and mum are doing fine. Sylwia was induced last night at 10:30. I was told I could head off then as more than likely they would have to induce her for a second time in the morning if not a third. So with her blessing it was that I headed off home. About 4 this morning I got a phone call from her saying that she had been in labour for 2 hours and I’d better come back up.
At about 6:30 they brought her down to the labour wards and as you already know 3 hours later he was born. She was given an epidural and baby had to be helped out with the aid of a forceps (like his dad 31 years ago). To say it was amazing is an understatement as those of you who have been there before can testify. Baby cried for a solid hour and has been as good as gold since. Naturally we hope that he will continue this way.
Er… We don’t have a name for him yet either but we are almost there! So for now here he is :

WELCOME TO THE WORLD little fella! Congratulations to the new Mum and Dad too – he looks absolutely adorable. HAPPY BIRTH DAY!
Thank you Steph! I will pass on your regards to him later! He is in a room with three other babies and he seems to be the only one not screaming. He is feeding well too. Both his mum and I are absolutely chuffed!
Oh wow! that’s the best news! Congrats to all of you! Lovely looking fella
Thanks Donncha! I think somehow that he has inherited his looks from his mother
Welcome young man fantastic to see you and congrats to Mum and Dad. Great to have another 1st cousin twice removed (ask Gran for the connection!)
Hi Harold!
I’m well aware of the connection
nice to hear from you here. Of course Gran is now a great Gran but just don’t remind her
Wayhay!! Welcome little fella.
Congratulations to the three of you.
P.S. ‘Grandad’ is quite a nice name?
Delighted with the good news Robert.
Welcome little man. I see you can use a mobile phone!

Hugs Grannymar
Grandad: nice and all name that it is I think it might not suit him just yet
Grannymar: He would be nothing like his father if technology wasn’t the first thing on his mind
Aw!
I think if you painted a grey beard on him, he’d look just like me [after a hard night at the pub].
Managed to get any sleep yet? *heh*
I might attach a false one and take a picture just to see
I got a mighty sleep last night myself. I managed to get wasted on three pints and then collapsed into a semi coma at home only to wake up again at 9:30 this morning. I’m writing a new post about this at the moment so tune in again shortly as we have a name!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
Only logged on just now. Glad to hear all went well for all of you. Lucas is a nice name. I guess you’ll be teaching him to read internet statistics logs!
All the best.
Cheers Conor,
It will be a while before I will be having him pore over log files yet. But it is definitely an option
Just make sure he doesn’t pour over the keyboard. It’s worse than coffee.
That’s good advice Grandad. I think I might use that as a threat the next time my laptop starts acting up

Better late than never
Cheers! I will pass on your congrats to herself. And himself of course
