I think you hit the nail on the head there. It is just going to be a circle that continues with each generation.

Having been a drug experimentor in my youth, I look back on it and wonder how I could do something so stupid. The reason is simple. Part of it has to do with the excitement of rolling the dice. Every user profoundly believes they can beat the odds. Another reason is the simple desire to explore new frontiers of experience. Lastly, it is fun, pure and simple. Not until we get into our fifties do we realize what we've done to our brains and our bodies. But by then, a whole new generation of youth is partying and ignoring our sage advice for all the reasons mentioned above.

It doesn't help when celebrities not only do it, but in some cases even seem to advocate it! Robbie Williams openly stated that the best times in his life had been under the influence of cocaine... He didn't state at the time that he was spending an estimated £200,000 per year on it.

Brian and Dan,

It just goes to show how much celebrity culture has started to influence people. If "insert celebrity here" takes it then it must be ok.

Cocaine might have been fashionable 5 years ago, but with demand for it the way it is you can be sure the quality is nowhere like it was.

Even "celebrities" have dodgy dealers so that should be a warning to everyone.

Still it won't make the slightest difference. Most people accept the consequences which is fine for them but not for those they leave behind.

they are all muppets. every single one of them.but there has to be so many other celebrities who are sniffing the stuff and we don't know about yet because they are still alive and well. Charlotte church probably sniffs it - she just looks like the kind of character that would.

... taking cocaine is neither smart nor fashionable ...

Clearly it is, or the demand wouldn't be so high. That Prime Time szpecial shocked me, though.
