Daffodil Day
Just done my hour stint collecting outside our local Lidl for an hour.
I think I’ve just about thawed out now. But just a quick reminder that it is for a good cause so if you haven’t already yet made a contribution then there is plenty of time left to do so.
and then you keep getting distracted by old colleagues chatting to you.
Ha! I was wondering how long it would take you to check out my site once I told you about it
Was great to chat again! Keep in touch.
Jacinta gave the collector in Blarney the 50 Euro I promised (nobody bought a print, oh well) and apparently she wasn’t that surprised.
Must be rich and generous people in Blarney!
I was quite pleasantly surprised at the amount of people that bought something today.
Fair play to you for giving the €50.
Last time I collected outside a supermarket I keeled over with the cold. That was years before I was told ‘No standing’!
Grannymar,
I was lucky I got a good spot. I actually had a stool!
I didn’t really have a chance to use it though as I had to move about to keep warm.
Good on you, Robert
Having lost a fit and healthy brother to cancer of the oesophagus (aged 48), I always make sure to support Daffodil Day, Lollipop Days and Hospice collections. All invaluable services for those who need them.
With the way climate change is affecting things, the ICS may soon have to consider moving Daffodil Day to February.
I don’t know Steph, given the weather last night and today I think they might be better off moving it to mid-June!
