Where’s my upgrade?

It’s now the middle of June. I wonder where my promised broadband speed upgrade from eircom is?

They still have a couple of weeks before the end of June and their promised date to upgrade me to 10Mb.

I wonder if they will supply a new router? The Netopias are only capable for a max of 8Mb.

i know where your upgrade is – in dublin. The nibbly little shits up there get everything first. Apparently some folk in Dublin got 12mbit which pisses me off. What have they done to deserve faster internet? Looks like it will be a while before anyone gets a faster connection down here.

You know I think you hit the nail on the head there Dan.

Sometimes I keep forgetting that this is actually a two tier country. Dublin and the rest of us :|

You are so far lucky. I have now 2,5 Mb (up & down) but sometimes the real speed is about 700 Kb.

We’re not that lucky yet! I’m going to call a friend of mine to see if any work is scheduled for our local exchange..

a 2.5mbit symmetric connection would be nice. but nobody in Ireland does them except some little-known wireless provider.

They should just make Dublin county it’s own country. the rest of Ireland would get rich off all the water, electricity and bandwidth they’d have to import from the rest of the country

    I like your idea..

If only there were some way to detach them from the rest of the country!
