I’m 118% Legal!

Well, I was 99.9% legal beforehand. (at a rough guess.)

So being a student has it’s advantages! Microsoft’s Dreamspark campaign is a  scheme for students to download Microsoft software completely free of charge provided you meet the criteria.

And I have to say fair play to Microsoft, they really mean it. I now have Visual Studio 2008 Professional edition downloaded and installed. What I’m going to do with it is another story but now I have an extra impetus to learn.

I also have Microsoft Expression Studio 2 and I have to say this is probably the best piece of software that Microsoft have come up with since Office 97. And I mean that in the nicest sense. Already Expression Studio Web is in IMHO a Dreamweaver beater and it actually really does include support for PHP as well.

It’s a great scheme from a company that would normally charge for such things so if you are a student then by all means take advantage of it. License for Server 2003? Check, Server 2008 standard? Check!

I highly recommend checking out Microsft Expression 2.0.

I’d never though I would be a Microsoft shill but there you go ;)

Thanks for the great info! I really think Microsoft are going in the right direction with the XBOX price-cut, Windows 7 is a great OS, all thats needed now is to give a discount or free upgrade to all Vista users.

Congratz on the nomination by the way.

    Cheers Sean!

I was just reading earlier that upgrading to Windows 7 from Vista will be pretty painless however there will be no direct upgrade from XP. Which means a complete reinstall or “upgrading” XP to Vista and then onto Windows 7 :|
