Japanese Booze
Congratulations to Tony and Saori on their recent wedding in Japan. And thanks for bringing me back some sake.
Normally this stuff comes in bottles so I was quite curious when I got these:
I’m half way through the one with the pink flowers and it’s bloody lovely. I’m going to save the other two for another time though

those would be nice with some raw fish
It most certainly would Dan. Can’t beat some sashimi and a little bit of wasabi.
Rice Wine. Would it blow the head of me?
Yes it would! It’s quite literally trying to blow the head off me as I’m trying to stab the keys on my keyboard..! Great stuff so it is.
Oddly it is brewed rather than distilled or whatever the hell else. Mighty stuff though.
I’d say you were sorry you skulled it this morning
I only skulled one of them Ryan! Mind you they aren’t that strong, well, about 14% or so. Might have been the straw that I had to drink it with
Have you ever had it warm? I love it like that.
Was in a department store in Tokyo a few years ago and the various sake brands were giving away samples of their wares. I was bladdered in no time at all. What’s more the vendors were in fierce competition with each other so if they saw you getting a tot from a competitor they’d scream all sorts of invective at the other fella and give you an even bigger shot of their product.
I only went out for some cornflakes and came back wrecked.
Pity we didn’t arrange anything when I was over. Like Bock I’m not sure about the next blog awards. If it’s in Dublin forget about it. Would be much more interested in a Munster/regional get together to be honest.
I’ll see you at that so
Hi Devin!
Yep, I’ve had it warm as well and it is just that little bit nicer I think. I can’t find anywhere down around here that sells it though.
I’m in the same frame of mind about the awards as yourself. If it is in Dublin then I won’t be going. Mind you, it would be hard to top the last one!
