Things I’m not allowed to buy my son for Christmas

Lucas is two but some ground rules have been laid out already as to what I cannot buy him for Christmas this year:

  1. A model Tie Fighter.
  2. A model Millenium Falcon or indeed anything related to Star Wars.
  3. Anything to do with Star Trek.
  4. Anything to do with Stargate.
  5. A new MacBook.
  6. Anything to do with guns, weapons and the military in general.
  7. Anything that is alive.
  8. Anything that was once alive.
  9. A domain name (not until he is 10 at least so I’m told but it’s too late already!)
  10. A Playstation 3.
  11. Grand Theft Auto IV for PC or Playstation 3.
  12. A ride on toy tractor. (Apparently he’s too small)
  13. Dinkys and other toy cars. (He has enough already)
  14. Anything that makes loud noises and requires batteries.
  15. A 1TB external hard disk. (For his baby photos honestly!!)

I guess all that is left is Play-Doh but that’s what I got him for his birthday a few weeks ago. And here was me thinking buying christmas presents for kids was going to be easy.

Can’t wait until he’s older.

Kill two birds with one stone….

Buy him a model railway set.

Then on his birthday, you can let him play with it.

I knew I forgot something on the list!

I wanted to buy him a model train set since before he was born but it’s verboten.

He has a cheap plastic one with a circular track which he seems to enjoy but he always points out the Hornby ones in the Toymaster catalogue.

    The hell with rules.

Hornby 00 gauge is yer only man.

    :)

Lego. Hours of fun…until you step on/swallow them.

Good suggestion Aaron but he’s too small for the normal lego and the Duplo stuff is bloody expensive for just a box of bricks.

We still have half a ton of the stuff in the attic that belongs to my brother and myself. Loads of Meccano too.

I think i might pop up there later and take it down to ahem! Test ;)

u can get him something that makes loud noises and runs on petrol..

Or else a server. He will be the coolest kid in playskool if he has his own server

He already has his own server Dan. Sun Netra T1 no less. He has a laptop too. An elderly 1.2Ghz Celeron Toshiba jobby.

Get him his own TLD then.

Not a bad idea. dot lucas. Has a nice ring to it. I better prepare to get @mneylon to lobby for it on my behalf.

all the things on that list are chipmunk gifts.

didn’t know there was a special term for them until recently

Never heard that term before Dan but I like it!

That’s the great thing about having a son. More often than not anything you buy them you can play with as well ;)
